I had a dream of Daddy
And this is what he said
Please try not to mourn me
Even though I'm dead
My last years were such hards
ones
For me and pretty Scottie
I didn't much like being sick
And sometimes acted rotten
I'm sorry my needs burdened you
My wife and all my children
I hope you can remember me
Before I was a burden
I'm not much good at rhyming
words
I worked in prose and news
But maybe I'll try poetry
Sometimes, to get through
Please try not to be so sad
I love you and I'm still your Dad
Even though I'm over here
I love you still, so dry your tears
