Romance, has it been dying
With our blue jeans and our sneakers
Are we losing our identities
Are we getting weaker
We are children of our mothers
But we’re not what they once were
The frills and laces disappeared
Our womanhood’s less pure
The flowers that meant romance
The dance that felt so sweet
Have somehow sadly gotten lost
On life’s fast, busy streets
I’d like to feel the music
And hear a lover’s heart
Appreciating all it means
The sum of woman’s parts
The flowers and the romance
May be just what we’ve lost
And if that’s so, then this sad world
Should stop and count the cost
The flowers that meant romance
The dance that felt so sweet
Have somehow sadly gotten lost
On life’s fast, busy streets
