More Than
Survive

I keep
getting all these images
Audio, video,
live
Little sound
bytes that take me
right back
To where I
could more than survive

I've been
living on empty for too
many years
I'm tired and
lonely and scared
That I might
grow old, all alone,
by myself
Looks like no
one really ever has
cared

Maybe they
haven't, only wanted
to take
What I with my
open heart gave
them
And now I look
back with regret
and with pain
Wond'ring how
on this earth could
I save them
